My dear Whittemore
1, Bardwell Road, Oxford
14. XII. 38
I hope you have seen Runciman and either Malcolm MacDonald or Lord Harlech.
The Oxford friend I mentioned, who sails Saturday – perhaps on your ship – is Sir David Ross – Provost of Oriel & President of British Academy – who will be in N. Y. during Jan. at the Depart. of Philosophy – Columbia University.
If you had a chance of ascertaining whether Bay Fethi Okyar w[ould] be interested, please put « O-K » on this postcard. If he showed no interest, I will not bother him.
At the British Academy luncheon, yesterday, several of your friends wanted to see you but I doubt if they all succeeded !
With kindest regards from my wife
Yours very sincerely W[illiam] H[epburn] Buckler
Barbara is delighted with the carnelians, & will write herself.
Bon Voyage.
