Hampden Row 27 Dear Whittemore,
From C.S. Prichard, Princes Risborough 16th October 1936
I feel I ought to write to you to tell you that Matt died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday, in fact while he was talking to the nurse who was giving him his tea.
He had been in bed for a few days since pericarditis appeared, and was presumably going on satisfactorily.
A clot of blood must formed causing instant death.
He will be cremated on Monday, I am returning to Ermoloff typewritten notes etc that came for Matt yesterday.
I hope you are well and your work going on satisfactorily.
Y[ou]rs sincerely
C.S. Prichard
