it has been a very long time since I've received your news and I hope you have received my letter in which I give you references of the Emperor Alexander.

I have copied exactly all the inscriptions that were on the sketch of my grandfather and hope you are able to find it. In any case I wish to know if the mosaic had been destroyed in the earthquake of 1894.

Mr. Lacehie has written to me and he begged me to ask you if you have sent your book.
